If you’re looking to get into a car for sale electric but don’t want to spend the extra money on a new model, the used market offers some compelling options. But beware: it’s not uncommon for older EVs to have had their battery packs replaced. This can add up to a significant post-warranty cost.
Luckily, many of the top-selling used EVs are now more affordable than ever. The Nissan Leaf and Kia Niro are both good examples. They’re comfortable and capable, offer a lot of cargo space, and have a long driving range. The latter can even get you across the US in one charge.
Switching Gears: Car for Sale Electric
The Volkswagen e-Golf is another solid option. It’s a bit less expensive than a Tesla Model 3 and offers similar performance. The Hyundai Kona also delivers a lot of utility for a great price. Its quirky design and big torque make it a fun commuter, especially if you don’t need to go very far.
If you’re willing to spend a bit more, Porsche’s Taycan is an incredible technical achievement. It does the things we all love about driving — acceleration, braking and cornering — with astonishing alacrity and a massive well of capability that remains mostly untapped by normal use.
